Terms of Service
Effective 16 October 2026. GigaDungeon is operated by HATCHideas ("we", "us"). Questions: contact@HATCHideas.com.
1. The service
GigaDungeon is an online, turn-based multiplayer dungeon game played in a web browser. By creating an account, starting a guest trial, or playing, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Who may play
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf and must be the one to subscribe. We may close an account we believe belongs to someone under 13.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your password private and for what happens under your account. Guest trials are temporary: a guest account and its characters are deleted automatically after a period set by us (shown in the game) unless you keep the character by creating an account. One person, one account; we may limit how many trials can be started from one network address.
4. The Hero subscription
The free Adventurer plan lets you play with a limited number of characters in public worlds. The Hero subscription (currently US $3.00 per month, charged monthly, no annual option) unlocks more characters and features described on the Hero page. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
- Renewal. The subscription renews each month until you cancel.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time from the Hero page or the billing portal. You keep Hero until the end of the period you have paid for; nothing further is charged.
- After cancelling. Characters beyond the free limit are locked, not deleted. They unlock again if you resubscribe.
- Refunds. Monthly charges are not refundable except where the law requires it or we have made a mistake; write to us and we will look at it.
- Price changes. We will tell you by email at least 30 days before a price change takes effect; continuing to subscribe after that date accepts the new price.
5. Fair play
Do not cheat, automate play, probe or overload the service, interfere with other players, impersonate anyone, or use names that are abusive or belong to someone else (we keep a reserved-names list). We may rate-limit, block a network address, lock characters, or close an account for breaking these rules, with or without notice, and without refund where the breach is serious.
6. Your content
Character and world names and in-game chat are yours; you give us a licence to store and show them to other players as part of the game. Keep chat civil. We may remove content that breaks these terms.
7. Our content and the Open Game License
The game's rules derive from the System Reference Document under the Open Game License 1.0a; that Open Game Content is used under that licence. Everything else — the name GigaDungeon, the dungeon, its text, artwork, code and design — belongs to us or our licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission. Game worlds are generated from a seed and may be regenerated or changed between versions.
8. Changes and availability
The game is in active development. Rules, content, prices and features will change; characters may be rebalanced; worlds may be reset when a release requires it, and we will say so in the changelog. We do not promise the service will be available at any particular time, and we may suspend or end it. If we end the service permanently, active subscriptions are cancelled and no further charges are made.
9. Ending your account
You can delete your account from the profile screen at any time; this removes your profile, characters and inventory and cancels any subscription. We may close accounts that break these terms or that have been inactive for a long time.
10. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, or lost progress. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be heard in the courts there, except that you may have rights under the consumer law of the place you live that these terms do not take away.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top changes when we do; for material changes we will tell you in the game or by email before they take effect. Continuing to play after that accepts the new terms.
